Acu-Rite Companies Inc. Merges with HEIDENHAIN Corporation

(July 8, 2009) - We are pleased to announce that as of September 1, 2009, Acu-Rite Companies, Inc. will be merged with HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION.

As a result of these changes in our organization, all sales, support, service and administrative functions at Acu-Rite will be centralized at HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION in Schaumburg, IL. Manufacturing and R & D will continue at Jamestown, New York and Miramar, Florida.

These changes are in response to the current world-wide business situation. It is our intention to utilize the considerable resources of the HEIDENHAIN Group in North America more efficiently. There are a number of HEIDENHAIN Companies, including Acu-Rite, in the United States. These companies have extremely high quality and high technology products for the machine tool, electronics and automation market segments. By using a consolidated sales, service and support team, we hope to be able to address the individual market segments more aggressively and leverage opportunities between the segments more effectively. We expect to accomplish this by building on the closer relationships and faster internal communication that will come with a consolidated sales and support organization.

The total product offering of HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION will now be the most complete in the industry. Our designs and quality are second to none. Through a single company, you now have enhanced access to all solutions from one of the world's most respected development companies.
